Week 07 - The 7 Habits

Image
Response To This Weeks Reading THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE might be my most favorite reading from this course so far. It came in a time of my life when I needed it most, and when it was the most applicable. The 7 habits are described so perfectly in the text, I don’t think my summary would do it justice. The 7 Habits provide an incremental, sequential, integrated approach to the development of personal effectiveness moving us progressively from dependence (on others) to independence (taking care of ourselves) to interdependence (looking after others and combining strengths to multiply our individual effectiveness) The following are the two habits I found most useful in my life, either in a professional setting or otherwise. While all of these are great told for everyone, there are a few habits that I haven’t quite mastered. Habit 4 – Think Win/Win The text explains that there are 6 different paradigms of human interaction. All...

Week 06 - Train Your Brain

Image
Response To This Weeks Reading The goal of any entrepreneur is to develop and lead a business venture to achieve great financial return. Many people have the drive and the “million dollar idea”, however, most will fall short. This weeks reading talks about the steps that need to be taken to take this new idea into a successful investment. Each of the articles, talks, and videos spoke on how to better your mind. Response To This Weeks Reading Again this week we discuss the destructive ramifications of fear This week in B 183: 08, we have been tasked with analyzing and expounding upon our favorite insights in “A Hero’s Journey”.   There was great wealth of knowledge spoken, but the words that I felt most applicable were “Fear will cause us to lose the opportunities of a lifetime”.   In this lecture we are advised that great success is available to all, but what hold most back is they don’t find their true “entrepreneurial calling”, and those that due lack the proper faith and courage. I have yet to attempt any true business venture besides selling packs of 5-gum at $2 profit to my classmates in the eighth grade. However, what I can attest to is that I can identify times in my life where personal successes and goals were passed up due to self-sabotage and fear. Many individuals have not pursued my goals both professional and personal because of the same fear brou...

Week 04 - Scream Queens!

Response To This Weeks Reading This week, the  curriculum  focused on Fear! As per the “Deconstructing your Fear Experience” instructions, I felt it would be appropriate to post my initial fear chart as well responses to the final prompts to be included in a personal journal. If you pursue your calling with discipline, intentionality, and the help of fellow travelers, what are the chances that your worst-case scenario will really happen? Unfortunately, a great deal of success in real-estate comes from the housing market. Even the most devoted real-estate agent can only find so much success during instances such as the 2008 recession. However , what I can control would be significantly amplified by putting my fullest degree of effort into such a career path. Additionally, by “bridging the gap”, and implementing gospel principles into my professional practice, my Heavenly Father would bestow blessing upon me! As you look at your l...
