Week 03 - I Found the Treasure!
Response To This Weeks Reading During my time studying both secular and spiritual texts a very common theme gets brought up; our spiritual succession is far more important than our earthly progression. The natural man in each of us pulls our attention away from our Heavenly Father towards things such as material wealth, popularity and the “finer things” in life. While the desire for such things is not sinful, as children of God, we must not forget how fleeting these all are. Our Heavenly Father sent us all to earth so that we may present him our love and devotion to him. The pursuit of earthly wealth can be disruptive to that. This sentiment reminds me of the LDS musical “My Turn on Earth”, where humanity is incorrectly taught to believe that earthly "treasures" are the key to living a fulfilling life, also that we will be given praise by our Father for our acquisition of material possessions.
